Scottish Hepatitis C Community

The Scottish Hepatitis C Community, a new dedicated on-line information and support website, is now active and organically developing. Designed as a community focused on-line facility to encourage service user participation, communication and sharing of information; to provide the means of mutual support and to promote a sense of community amongst those living with HCV and those working in the field, the facility can make a unique contribution to building a sense of community at local and national levels.

The on-line community website also offers other organisations the possibility to promote their work in the field of Hepatitis C and therefore widen the network of support for people seeking help and advice relevant to them.

The Community is committed to serving people with Hepatitis C as a means of communication and support and will enable them to feel part of a community that cares and understands.

People with Hepatitis C often feel isolated and fearful. Stigma and ignorance play a large part in being diagnosed and it is important to raise awareness that Hepatitis C is curable and manageable. The Community offers the chance to share experiences with others going through the same thing, signposting to support groups and helpline and providing professional advice to help people affected by Hepatitis C to make the right decisions, lead healthier lifestyles and consider treatment and above all know they are not alone.

If you would like to be involved in the Community just sign up and get posting.
