Advocating - Hepatitis C Patient's Forum

Launched at the Scottish Hepatitis C Stakeholder's Conference in Perth on October 1st, the Forum will aim to directly influence the delivery of Hepatitis C services in Scotland.

The Forum aims to achieve this by;

  • Acting as a representative steering committee to provide unique patients' perspectives to the Hepatitis C Resource Centre, Scotland and to ensure that the needs of patients are at the heart of The Centre's strategic objectives
  • Providing opportunities for people living with Hepatitis C to communicate with others, offering mutual support and information
  • Running the next annual conference in 2010 with an agenda based on the needs of patients
  • Expressing the voice of people affected by the Hepatitis C Virus in areas where differences can be made

People affected by hepatitis C often report feeling isolated, undervalued and badly informed. The Patient's Forum will work to address these and other barriers

A Steering Committee is currently being established for the Patient's Forum.

Patient Forum Survey

The Patients Forum will also feature an online community, which aims to bring people together to offer advice and support on a range of issues.  To ensure that the online forum meets the needs of service users, we are currently carrying out an online survey.  We would ask that you direct service users towards the survey, but we are also interested in your views.  The survey can be here.
